I always wanted to use a surf board but did not have the cash, but i have two twin tips.

I have found that, by placing one foot strap in the middle of each board I have gained more buoyancy and speed than I would expect from a surf board. People laugh but I have so much fun. Imagine one board on each foot!

I can actually straddle a wave, like one foot in the tube while the other keeps me there by planing the break. Will post photos soon, don't buy a surf board.

Finally someone has posted what I keep thinking - I cant believe guys who are not beginners are still riding their twin tips in the surf
- its sort of like playing golf with a hockey stick
- or playing pool with a garden rake
- or like swimming fully clothed
- or like having sex ......by yourself

I don't think this post is about the merits of surfboards versus twin-tips. ^^^
I think it's about flatwater bandits who trick-out in the wave zone...
and hence get in the way of wavekiters doing their thing.
Maybe I'm wrong ??

There are right of way rules, it doesnt matter what board you are using tt, surf, mutant or skim. Its about doing your own thing in the surf and having fun. just as many surfboard riders ditch there kites and get in the road as tt riders.

Im asuming if you broke your surf board and all you had was a tt, and you could still shread waves on it that you probaly would. Not everyone has a surfboard or likes riding one but people do enjoy being in the surf.

Whats with people that ride surfboards on these forums that make them think that only they can do there ownthing get a life bitches.

If you want to try a good TT for surf have a look at the new SK8 from FOne, designed mainly for waves/carving. I put one together yesterday and it looks good 132x38 good flex and a realy soft rail in the mid section that sharpens up towards the rear. Foot straps are very comfortable and realy lock the foot in. Cant wait to give it a go.

Has anyone tried one of these, what did you think?

I think it would be like having sex ....by yourself

I cant believe that people think TT are good in waves - probably why surfers still think that kiting is gay

Sorry but going against my own advice here i'm gonna feed that little bugger .

Who gives a **** about what any one else ****en thinks .As long as your having fun and causing no harm that is all that matters ,whatever floats your boat ... i've seen plenty of guys with crap kite and board skills on surf boards with no straps (supposedly all the go according to the cool police) lookin and riding like total friggen try hard tosser gumby's and who would probably be having more fun on a TT ,(perhaps having sex with a granny would be more fun)but so bloody what ,they're doin their thing and that is THEIR business

no not yet I am sticking with the dog for a while longer(and you need to get a photo, maybe something like this Richard's your vintage isn't he?) .It is too soon (BTW you are not one of the gumby's to which I refer,in fact you are a legendary ancient mariner just like Richard ,and as I said who cares what I or anyone including the cool police think and yes they do wear uniforms ) .Plus this is how rediculous trolls like this make me feel ..

(Arrggh there I go again feeding the troll)yes there has been crap wind all day untill now when it is too late no wind ,dinner isn't ready and the Windies have fallen in a heap

Ive been away from the forums for a while. I ride twin tips, strapped surfboards and strapless boards. It all depends on the day and what I feel like doing on it. I love boosting big off waves, including the opposite direction and landing down the face of the same wave. Equally, I love dropping in on a bomber set, and using my surfboard to do a big deep bottom turn.

Each to there own. If you are judging others then obviously you have a self esteem problem.

yeah cause paddling into 2-3 foot onshore mush for a 3 second ride is so much cooler right.
I can't imagine why any body that is into board sports would consider kiting "gay", but I sincerely hope that most surfers do consider kiting "gay". Could you imagine how f@#ked it would be to have as many kiters in the water as there are surfers. Every beach with a half decent break within 1-2 hours of any town with a population of more than 500 would look like Tarifa.
