Hi,
Can some one tell me the primary differences in performance / handling attributes of a surf kiteboard the underground mutant firebird please.
Cheers

Firebird is an A-symetrical twin tip, the other is a small, stiff, heavy surfboard.

I have a firebird which I use as a high wind waveboard. It's fun to use but has no volume and as such relies on the kite to get it onto the wave. I can't gybe it but you probably could if you're quick. It's a much better alternative in the surf than a TT due to the drive you get from the fins and the aversion to digging the nose in.
For light winds I use a modifed surfboard that is useable above 10 knots i guess. Totally different riding style than the firebird but equally fun.

Thanks Sir Rowdy,, but guess I know what they are, but not having ridden a firebird I was wondering how they compare in handling performance traits.
Robbo111, that good feedback, so maybe I am hearing that it is somewhere between a surf board and TT ?? but a high wind version.
How did it ride ""backwards"" ?
guess I just need to ride one..

it doesn't ride bacwards too well, the fins catch easily, it will get you back upwind but thats about it.
its kind of hard to get your mindset right about turning the board too; one minute you need to edge, the next you need to rely on the fins.
as robbo said, they are ok in high winds. i only use mine when its absolutely nuking and i can't hold a surfboard down with a 7.
