Spoke with Graeme this morning after his operation last night. He said all went well so now has a number of months on crutches then rehab. Apparently his heal bone was a jigsaw of pieces. Its all screwed together now so just a waiting game.

Keep smiling Gra,your're not missing anything mate,no wind in Sydney, ( don't tell the poor bloke that its been epic for days, I need a break, didn't finish till 8pm again last night, thats 15hrs out of the last 48, finally a great summer season )

Visited Graeme in hospital today,he looks a little bit worse for the wear, however,is in good spirits. Has to self dose morphine regularly for the pain and is very weary. His leg is in a cast and wrapped from foot to knee. I was there in the middle of the day and his lunch arrived. I had forgotten how crap hospital food is., even Kitepower's cinnamon and sand donuts would be more appealing. The hospital is really playing with his head. They put the poor bugger in a room that has clear views of kiters in Botany Bay,hows that for punishment.

get well soon mate.

lol - recovering in a room with views of kiters. Hope they are giving him antidepressants too.

Here i was ready to complain about getting my new kite after a 3 week wait (during epic conditions) then having to drive to Canberra to take my wife and 2 year old shopping (20-30kt southerly predicted) then drive to Cooma for a 81st birthday (20 kt NE predicted)... i think i haven't got it so bad now...

best wishes for the recovery.
