Looking doable out there today bar the direct westerly. Anyone keen for a session?

I was at Scarbs before sunrise with my kite rigged ready to go, as soon as there was enough light I was into it for a quick sesh before work. The shorebreak was too heavy though, I couldn't get out.

Should've gone to Pinnas or Leighton. They aren't on the way to work though.

Had a bit of a session out at Mullaloo. Was windy, and it was pretty hard work getting out as most of the time it was dead on shore. There were a few nice waves to be had.

The fence along the dunes was a bit of a worry. not much room to set up and land.

I think waveslave might have a bit of a boner, his neck of the woods would be on today.

I'm about to head out now at Mullaloo, but as Corey said earlier they have just installed a fence right along the beach which doesn't leave much room for error in a direct onshore, so anyone heading out there beware. The high tide mark at the moment is above the fenceline so I can't see it lasting for long but meanwhile it is an accident waiting to happen, not just for kiters, a couple of days ago I saw an old women get trapped against the fence when a big wave hit. I cannot see the reason for the fence other than to try and stop the odd sandboarder playing in the dunes, bloody irresponsible of the council if you ask me, and I will be letting them know.

Hi Tightlines,

I spoke to Joondalup Council about the fence that they had installed at Pinnaroo Point also when making our permit renewals last month. It is now the single most dangerous item on the beach by a country mile. I am going to speak again with them after it is washed away with the last of the winter storms . It also is set within the wash out zone of winter . Also spoke to them about summer rubbish bin positioning and have asked for consultation before they place them again this year.

Good luck with it down at Mullas, it's also not so bad when the winds are side shore and all the beach has returned, but needs to be addressed in any case for the first part of the season.

Good winds,

Just got back from the Infamous Melville beach. Got there and and not a soul around with 20-30knots DEAD onshore thought fk it and set up my kite and lines. Couple of prospectors arrive and we launch each other. The Sun cam out and the wind steadied nicely for some excellent conditions.

The nice lady living in the house adjacent to the beach came out and started taking photos of the guy who was dangling his kite over the grass area which I am sure was for the council complaints folio! EYES ON THE STREET!

I should of asked for a hot chocolate as it was like the UK done there!

Winter is ALL or nothing!

Woodies was gold. Only about 6 of us there, most on beach 2 but I was back on the east beach which is actually very flat in the due west winds. Wind was good right through to sunset. Perfect for 7m's.

Don't know why everyone is complaining about winter so much...

Because I get no spare hours in the day to kite. Bring on daylight savings, warm water and consistent seabreezes. The sun only came up at 7.07 this morning, I could have only gotten about half an hour on the way to work could I have made it out through the crunchers. After 10 minutes of trying I gave up. Then I had to work until after dark, 5.40pm.

Maybe I should quit my job.

^^^Thats why I work for the government the pay is so so but the flexibility is awesome, my happiness is more important than money. BTW I had a good two hour session this arvo but it was still pretty hard work getting out through the break, hopefully it will be even better tomorrow, I've got the day off

Bit more southerly in it tomorrow, might try the sunrise trick again if it's +18kts and looking consistent at 5am.
