iv been looking into get a pair of wake sandals because they look easyer to get into for kiting compared to bindings and they look like they hold u in just as good so how come more people dont ride them.
below are two examples.

I used them about 4-5 years back. Got out of them when the one footer/board off movement started. Will sell a pair if anyone wants them for cheap.

I reckon if thats wat you want go too proper bindings these look like ankle wreckers no support where its needed and harder to get out of in a hurry? if you need too

bindings would protect a major ankle wrench/twist better provided you stay in both I have a very shonky FANKLE (F%$#@cked ankle)and these make cringe just lookin at em

just my opinion

i would have to agree with you Bevo, not the ideal set up. Id go full bindings or straps. I got into sandals when the straps available were so thin and crappy they were really hard to stay in. Sandals are a bit easier to get into than most full binding though. Probably good for easy cruising but wouldn't want to do much in the way of hard landings with them on.

not quite a strap but not quite a binding.... if u want the pros of bindings go bindings more cons than bindings and less pro's..

That's why we have specifically made bindings for kiting, and not using the wake ones. They are made so they are easier to get into. Bindings are the way they are so they give you ankle, foot etc protection. If you want to wear the 'sandals' you aren't getting the protection and support that proper kiting bindings give you. Just look around for a pair of kiting bindings that you like. There are a heap of great one's out there, it's just a matter of finding what suits you the best, or I can see a major ankle surgery coming up soon for you

LF Esclades or Unuions - Unions are better imo.
ProLimit lace-up or step-in bindings
Cab Axis Pro Bindings

It's all up to personal preference

hate to rain on your parade elizabeth but there is no point getting "kite specific bindings" because they are exactly the same as normal bindings!!!!! for example unions are just ultras without a wrap, escalades are just shanes without the closed toe and pretty much every other "kite" binding is just a copy of a wake binding. so pretty much what you should do is just look for one that is the comfiest for you and has the most hold and is easy enough for you to get in and out of, for me anyway i think the hyperlite era is the best binding ive tried and was suprisingly easier to get in and out of then the unions and had way better hold. so really all ya gotta do is have a look around and try some out, theres tons of good wake bindings out there.

sorry liz not trying to bash ya there.

cheers The Ass

Ah the one and only Ass - Go for it mate - Seriously though, let me know the deal with certain products if I'm in the wrong. I'm happy to correct myself

Hence why I said "it's just a matter of finding what suits you the best" and "It's all up to personal preference". For myself, I've found the unions are way better than Alphas or the normal wake bindings. I just gave a list of the 'kite specific' bidnings seeing they are marketed that way, mainly for profit, rather than the ease for kiting. etc

I personally prefer straps, and hey you can all diss me, but it's personal preference. It's what makes us all different, our styles are all different, and our attitudes are different different, and how we kite is totally individualistic. 'God', if you want to go the wake sandles go for it, just becareful with the lack of ankle support was my main concern
