i know when water relaunching a 4 line kite you have to pull the bar to one side, but wont that make the kite launch into the power zone? how do you get the kite to the edge of the wind window? ive only ever flown a 5 line c- kite. i fly a SB3 at the moment.

cheers

in all seriousness though, once the kite turns up onto its wingtip, you just walk it out to the edge of the window before turning it up and into the air. it will be easy once you've done it once or twice. practice.

jks... when kite turns onto its wingtip; keep tension on that line but dont pull it any harder and the kite will drift to the edge of the window.

Jeesh, why's everyone so afraid of a bit of a hot launch?

HI
First thing with your kite (bow, hybrid, delta c) unless its solid wind (16+) let go of the bar, hopefully the kite is leading edge down (if not there are few tricks to get it back on its nose). Use the out side line on whichever side you want to work the kite to, not the bar. Work the kite round to the edge of window using the line only and gently slide it up into the air, then take control of the bar with your hands once its well clear of the water. Using the bar to relaunch in light wind especially can cause the kite to choke up. Remember if the kites on the water LET GO OF THE BAR ,and use the line.
Have Fun!
