Why are you all so concerned with what others are doing? It would seem that the ego has taken control in so many riders now that you have forgotten the true meaning of the term "freedom of expression".
When ego gets control, it becomes necessary to belittle others in order to make themselves seem to stand taller in order to fit in. Sorry guys, but cool is doing it your own way and flying in the face of what is termed appropriate or "cool", that takes courage and deserves respect.
Soul surfing is becoming a lost art in the all consuming effort to be cool, to be noticed and respected by others. To be riding the "right" board, wearing the "right" attire, flying the "right" kite and riding the "right" way. Come on people, where is riding purely for the stoke
If hitting the 1 foot foamy and throwing a bucket of water lights you up, then keep doing it.
The crowd has lost it's way and has sold out to the marketing dweebs whimsical fancies. Try something new ...... cut your own groove, invent your own trick, and ride differently if you want to and most importantly, don't judge others, you don't know anything about them or what they enjoy. Get REAL!
