I don't think you would like it in good conditions, but it might make a light wind mushy wave day fun. I've checked them out as a surfboard myself and they look great. But they have very little similarities to kite boards, especially the rails and volume displacement is all wrong for a good performing wave board.

Saying all that, I have a friend that rips on the strangest shaped board I've ever seen. So what you think won't work in theory, can actually surprise you on the water.

If you're big and heavy enough it COULD work OK-look at Ben W he rides a 6'2" as his standard kiting board-however, it's a VERY thick and wide board-as Sammy says, light wind, crappy waves, OK-but really not an ideal kite surfboard-there are plenty of other boards by Surftech and Global Surf and others that you could use for both-I usually kite a 6'1" (18 1/2"x 2 1/4") Al Merrick Flyer II swallow (poly board) as my kite surfboard and sometimes take it for a surf if the wind drops and I don't have my surfboards-a dual kite/surf board is more than possible.

This thing is thhiiiiiicccckkkkkk, i see it a work everday. I reckon you could get out in some light wind and smack around in knee high mush, but for any decent wind (over 18 knots) and any waves i would say it would suck pretty bad. the other thing is this board has a super shallow rocker line which would also be good for super light wind but bad for anything else.

you will actually find that if you go a fish or "retro fish" style you wont need a 6'3 and it will still be very easy to paddle. i would say look at something around 6 foot and under and you will still be able to paddle it and have an ok session kiting it. of course its not gonna be good for big waves but i ride a fish pretty often in the smaller crud we get here on the goldy and its still alot of fun.

I've posted it before, but I ride a 5'10" Xanadu twinny fish. Heaps of fun to surf, and also to kite. It's epoxy so it floats better then glass boards, and is tough. Like the others have said, can be a bit skippy in higher winds, but just use a smaller a kite. You are restricted by the twin fins in terms of back hand snaps. I also kite with a 6'4" and a 6'2" which handle punchier, suckier waves a bit better.

The webber does look like a fun board, though, maybe drop down a size or two. General rule with fishes is to go a few sizes smaller then what you would normally ride.
