bickley bay is ****! although great flat water with a gentle swell the effect of the land on the wind makes it a lot more windy on the beach than 50m out. the beach is also covered in shell and stuff

We usually kite Salmon Bay, a nice spot pretty quiet normally, can get a wave at times in one part of the Bay and semi flat water in another.
Natural Jetty can be kited also.
Lots of good locations depending upon wind direction.
Good winds,

I thought of the lakes while I was there for 2 weeks last month.
The idea was shat on by non-kiting mates on scientific grounds, and eco concerns.
I was still a fence sitter until a small plane crashed into one lake that I was eyeing off (there is an airfield VERY nearby).

Lakes are a no go. Not allowed. Fines
Salmon bay is wild. I kited there alone a couple of weeks ago in 25-30kn and a waist/shoulder high swell. Totally 100% lit on my 9m
Perfect nirvanic experience.
