Hi all, what is the best way to stop water shooting up your wetsuit from the ankles? I end up looking like the Michelin man after a kite and don’t need the added weight.

double sided velcro is best ,you can get it in rolls from your local sparky

I don't have that problem at all, anymore.

I can fix it for $435.

You have 3 options, cut the legs to just below the knee, use duct tape, or put some straps around your ankles, the ss straps are best or as the other dude said old leggies straps.

PS Had a cracker of a day yesterday.

Don’t like wearing booties (unless artic), so that’s out.

Will hold of on the holes and cutting as a last measure.

Ral inn, it would be the wetty or Sandy Point with the current funds, Sandy Point it is.

I'll try the straps as suggested by Coreyb and Bowski; I have some excellent quality velcro fishing rod straps that should work a treat.

The slick skin wetties, newer models don't have a sewn cuff.
better than cuffs for releasing water but only just.

Straps actually make it harder to realease water.

Cut the hole about level with bottom of calf muscle. Use a hole punch so hole is round so no tear instigation points.

Or do my fix and have a calf panel that is porous.

Remember water gets in the legs from more points than just the ankles.
