agree, recently bought myself a mystic warrior. it required a little bit of breaking in but now is very comfy. really nice construction and has an excellent hook knife which is easily accessable. pricey tho...

edit. north styler is similar in design to the mystic

haha, funny thing is its cheaper than the mystic
felt the new liquid force harness the other day, pity i didnt get 2 use it but its probably the most padded thing ever, sooooo nice, feels like theres gel or something in the padding, and it has a really nice handle pass leash if your into that stuff.

For me, Dakine. No question.

But...

Try loads on - there not all the same shape, and suprising, neither are humans. Go to your local dealer, try loads on, swing from the rafters by the hook and pick the most comfortable. Tip - money should be no object here, nothing will make more or less satisfied after a session. If you go for price over comfort, after 2 or 3 sessions, you WILL be pissed off.

correct, skimping on waist harnesses will stuff you up.

what's 'not to expensive?'

The Liquid Force kiteboarding harness I've got is comfortable and doesn't ride up if it's put on nice and tight, however the strap slips after a couple of uses.

This annoyed me so much that I ended up sewing velcro to both sides of the strap so it goes through the buckle, then velcroes back onto itself. No more slipping now, but I would have preferred to get one that worked from the get-go.

Not sure if newer LF harnesses are better? Mine's an ex-demo 2005 model I think.

hey you were the one with the start off subjective comment 'by far the best harness' ... it's the same as every other waist harness!

yo spend the money and get the new mystic warrior I bought three harnesses in the last year, its not worth getting a cheep one, there to important to comfort.

not saying there aren't other good ones out there, but once you try the mystic you won't bother with any others.

I had dekine before this.

Go to a proper shop and try on all the harnesses....take your time and put them on properly and hang from a hook that should be inside the shop to simulate the feel of the kite pulling on the harness. Whatever is most comfortable there is the harness you will get.

My suggestion is Mystic Warriors/Mystic Darkriders

The North Styler and North Air Styler is really nice too.
