Hey, I am a 67kg, 5ft 11 male looking to buy a new board, hopefully a underground FLX. I have 3 SS fuels 04 a 9m, 11m, and 13m and am starting to go up wind. I am also considering getting a cardboard custom. Looking to have one new board for the season. Any one give advice on which board is best and which size to get.

thanks heaps

Yeh, I'd go something close to 130cm by 38-40. Look for nice rounded edges and a bit of flex.

a 130 or 133 Cardboard with the right flex and rocker will suit the conditions. Let me know if you need a hand with the graphics side.

unreal, thanks for the advice everyone!!!!!!

Almost bought the cardboard they were really nice and easy to deal with and I would love to support an Ausi company, but then some cool dude sold me his new FLX for $850, used twice. size is a 132 and its an 06. You can still cheack it out on buy&sell I'm a bit excited hope to be out monday, tuesday wind depending.

Thanks again all

Judging by the mean humidity, wind speed, swell, temperature, dew point and pressure for Melbourne over summer I would invest in a board of around 220.56cm's with footstraps exactly 500mm apart. About 8 fins, 5 on the heelside and 3 on the toeside with the heelside fins being 103234532.67nm long and in the shape of a dog and the toeside ones 423234532.67nm long and in the shape of a cat.

I would include 20.24 cms of rocker to account for the ammount of swell and chop, triconcave bottom.

You ask what size board for Melbourne? The same as anywhere else.

Wouldn't the average wind conditions of a particular place dictate the board size?

I agree with Monkey Man, but would get a board with wipers to keep the slick off.

its bit hard to pick the average conditions in melbourne though. you get all strengths and directions throughout the year.

Actually that is more effected by conditions than you think. If its an area with no wind, get a extra large, because you aint gonna be kiting so you'll need to leave some space for the weight you put on from drinking beer.

Yea, agreed with Saffer...go large, you'll need to have room for your GPS, flare, shark shield, water purification tablets, sandwiches and phone.

Don't diss my "Neighbours" Stubby Holder. There is place for a stubby holder on every victorian harness, it should be standard!
