Hi,I have been wave sailing for 10 years and also surf and SUP all in WA and given the poor wind and waves this last summer want to give kite surfing a go.
Can any one recommend what i should buy first in regards to size/type of kite ,size/type of board and will i get away with w/surf harness?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks wheels

Lessons should be the first thing you buy!

Any brand of kite except Cabriha or Best.

And a waist harness, not one of those stupid seat ones!

Maybe a bikini like his.

Just don't stress about it. Just get some gear and have a go. Every kiter has too many opinions.

(except for the waist harness one. That is spot on)

Welcome back, Boyo. It's been ages, how ya doin?

And wheels, winter's advice is spot on: lessons with a licensed and reputable school will put you in a good position to then think about your own gear. The forums will give you some ideas, but nothing beats practical experience and having a good look at what others are using at the beach.

Started kiting this year. Using an old school windsurfing seat harness I've had for years. Works fine.
