I use a fat candle and do a single wrap around with the centre flying lines to avoid wear after spins . Should work ok with the safety rope

Get some heat shrink from bunnings or an electrical wholesaler and put it over it and get your hair dryer and problem fixed.

Personally I wouldn't put any wax or lubricant on your lines as it is more likely to have sand stick to it and the wear will be worse than without...

I tried melted candle wax on my slingshot depower line a few years ago. Does not help with abrasion easier and neater to buy new parts.

Change it.

My tip: don't wax, but dunk your bar in the water before you get on the board to flush out any sand. I tried wax, but it's a bit of a bugger because the sand sticks to the wax and then it eats the hole in the bar. I've been doing the dunking trick for years, lines and bars last much longer.

Have noticed now some manufactures use 2 plastic sleeves thru the bar and others eg wainman 1 sleeve containing 2 lines 1 for chicken loop with a slot for the other for the safety flag.
Much better idea while others have the flagging line above the bar but maybe this interferes with the leash.
