Hi just wondering when you all would get a new harness? Just when it breaks? Mine hasn't broken but has stretched a fair bit and gets really loose as I ride... I don't really mind it loose, but lately my backs been killing and I'm wondering if the harness could be doing damage? Don't really want to use a seat harness for the wedge factor... Thoughts?

not when it breaks ,had a mate lose his kite and board when his harness broke, i swapped my mystic harness which i was happy with for an ion after a few big sesssions i started having back trouble , although it felt good in the shop after a few powered moves it kept riding up giving no back support, most girls ive seen wear seat harnesses or female specific harnesses, after all you girls are a different shape and whats comfy for a women isnt so for a bloke ( i found this out when trying on my wifes underwear)

The day your harness breaks is the day it's heavily stressed. It's the 30knot day when you really don't want something to go wrong, the day you suddenly & unexpectedly find yourself in a difficult & dangerous situation.
I think, as you're concerned about it, you need a new one NOW.

If your prepared to have your harness snap during a session, ride until it breaks. If not buy a new one.

I got about 7 years out of my mystic warrior 1
I would still be using it if it didn't get stolen from my car

Just to clarify, my harness is about 3 years old, and not in bad nick, just gets looser, but I'm not keen to replace it just because of that as they're all gonna do that in a while I predict... I'm just wondering if its causing back pain, or could be justthat I'm kiting a lot more now than previous years.. so when do you know you need to replace it? Time frame, etc. Thanks for replies...

Back pain can definitely be caused by the harness, my first harness gave me terrible back aches. don't put up with it, a new harness is a small price to pay for comfort an prevention of serious back troubles in future.

Also the technology in the last 3 years has improved so much especially for the girls equipment. Id recommend if you have a girly figure get a chicks harness iv ridden a range of them and love them there so much more comfortable and way less likely to ride up.

Also go for one that has a wide back part optimizing your support and dont be put of if its not comfortable in the shop i got a harness sent to me and was almost going to send it back as it felt terrible when i tried it on pushed in all the wrong places but then when i used it kiting it was super comfortable and i loved it.
