hi,
planning a trip to gold coast and want to do some kitesurfing while there. what are some good flat water spots to kite at. anyone know of hotels to stay at that are really close to those places.

the broadwater is flat, i'm stuck out west at tafe at the moment so cant really help. If the grand has a hotel section that would work but i think its just apartments. else its not that far from surfers if you can travel.

Main beach is good which is just down from surface. There are also a few good spots in the Southport Broadwater. (loaders creek and shearwater) Your best bet would be to go to Main beach on a windy day and chat to some of the locals.
Please be mindful of swimmers and stay away from the red and yellow flags.
As far as hotels go, they are pretty expensive in surface, try lastminute.com or wotif.com. You might find cheaper accom in southport or runaway bay.
