Which golf bag is the winner?. Im only taking a 2 kites a 7m and 12m 1 harness a wetty and 128cm board plus 2 bars and a pump.

the best golf bag looks ok but someone told me that its quite large and they got continually asked to open it when they checked in?

ill be on 4 international flights and they hit my friend with $150 luggage fee last year. I will have to start selling my kites in the airport if I get charged that 4 times.

any ideas?

make sure you check the weight of the bag itself - some of 'em are real heavy ... counts when you are checking-in...

prepare,
just tell em that they are a couple of small surfboards and wetties.
airlines are used to lots of surfers and charge accordingly.
if you say kitesurf, red lights and sirens go off in their computers due to the excess luggage of pro kiters' habits and putting it in the rare expensive sports category.
unfortunately you can't be proud to be a kiter at checkin.
any good wheely bag is good.

would be a damn small surfboard haha. most of the bags are around 150cm long thats less than 5 foot.

would prefer to stick a putter and couple of golf balls in the bag and say im off to play 18 holes of putt putt.

but if they look in your bag!

you look like a total liar, so kiteboard's can't be passed off as putters and drivers. but can be passed off as experimental tow in surfboards. with your backpacking tents.
durr.

if it says "pro golf" in big letters on the outside.
and your ticket says "sporting equipment". assumptions are made and no one need lie.

I know I work for best so use your own judgement, however I do have a best golf bag and jeeze it's light and very very easy to wheel around, packs everything into it and more.

A tip on baggage check in officers, be very very nice to them as they check in lots of people who think they are more important than the next guy. It's a power thing and your at their mercy, phuk them off and your bags history .

There is someone selling a Dakine BTS bag on the BUY SELL EAST COAST FORUM

get this bag! I used to have one when i travelled ALOT.

Its a rectangular split bag with one bag reinforced with a backbone and wheels. It has the the thickest padding on the market to protect your gear. Load one bag up with ONLY kitesurfing equipment. This will be your 'sporting equipment' bag and the other with all your clothes and gear etc. I used to keep the clothes bag half full so that I could bend it in half and strap it...this way it wasn't really oversized.

When you fly Qantas you do not get charged excess luggage if you have one bag that is sporting equipment. If you mix clothes and sporting equipment together you should get charged excess luggage.

My mum's golf bag. It is just long enough for my longest board - 132, has wheels and fits two boards, two kites a wettie and harness in one of the front pockets. You don't have to pack your gear down too much either, which is a total bitch. She said hers is the most common and also cheapest size you can get. She got hers at rebel sport and it cost about $80.

Also, the key to not being asked about golf gear is to look like a golfer. I normally look like the complete opposite of a golfer(when golfers go feral) but last time I came back to Oz I left straight after a funeral, and so I looked very neat and clean, with all the dready bits neatly hidden. And they didn't even xray my bags! At all!

'Straight through, dahl!'

Clearly the difference between a successful hijacking and a failed one is a hairbrush and a pair shoes.
