Is anyone kiteing the whitsundays at the moment? looking to move up there in a couple of months but not sure when the best time or spots are? hopefully work should not be a problem as i am a chef should be able to get work fairly easily. Or does anyone know someone that has a charter boat that i can get work on that does kiteing trips or similar? advice would be greatly appreciated. cheers

Hey just came back from long island in the whitsundays. it is possible to kite on the front beach not totally sure a northerly is on shore and i think one of the workers over there said the south easter is alright as well. I tried on saturday only enough to get the kite in the air for a bit and get everyones attention not enough to ride. Wind came in awesome on the sunday but had to get the ferry home. good luck to u

whitsundays have a heaps of great spots, winter is the trade wind season se, on the mainland go to conway beach, low tide has heaps of flat water just dont kite into the river mouth or youll either be sucked into the croc feeding zone or out to sea. ask around there are guys up there kiting they will give you the heads up.
if your on the islands get yourself to whitehaven on any se best with a bit of east in it, if you got a sutherly or northely go to langford spit opposite hayman isl., feel like driving mackay goes off, good crew to, not to mention bowen and alva beach (close to townsville but one of the best flat water spots)
happy days during winter the wind is pretty reliable summer months mackay offers the best
