In defense of the guys who slated Lou, the question was "Who IS the best kiteboarder" not "who WAS the best kiteboarder" so that would put the options down to only a handful of hopefuls include the likes of Aaron Hadlow, Ruben Lenton, Kevin Langaree, Youri Zoon and Alvaro Onieva.

If you were going to include the kiters of yesteryear, then the likes of Lou, Robbie and co would definitely feature as those taking it to the next level, but even Robbie conceded in the Red Bull King of the Air final between himself and Ruben, that "new school would kick his ass" and thats the exact words he used. Kiteboarding has changed since those days and these days Aaron is pulling switchstance tricks that guys in Maui battled with normal.

Lou was (is)? an exceptional rider ,of a particular style.

If you are interested in riding in the surf,you won't gain much by watching those vids.

Easiest is to check out the Naish TV site,some great videos there.
Or,Cabrinha,same again.

www.Kiteforum.com has a great video section.You can see a list of "most watched" and read comments about the vids which will give you an idea of who most are watching.You will notice an abundence of mentions of Ruben Lenton.

One of my favorites,Mark Shinn,a great allrounder (Also a former double World Champ).

yeh i did check out aaron hadlow and yeh he is already one of my favrioutes

he has awsome style, and i did watch all the vids every1 put up and they are unreal .. its put a better meaning of kiteboarding in my head more meaning after waching these pro's
