If I had the choice it would be Taranaki NZ. Sweet wind direction coverage and awesome surf.

hmm 30+ knot days? I get my 6m out over 30 knots..... maybe 15 sessions per year. 20 max. 6m weather can be from now to January.

Its more unusual to not have swell that have swell here.

one thing is certain. if its 30 knots + the swell 9 time out of 10 BIG.

My year goes like this.
summer. balmy sea breases smaller swell. most use kites 10m, 15m,13m
autum. funky wind on weird angles. bigger swell. 13m,10m sizes
winter: - storms, squalls, BIG swell. 10,8,6 kites most used.
spring: cranken westerlies solid well. the best time of the year wind swell angle. 10, 8, 6 mostly used

Or you could just go to NZ.. Prob better off trying to bring some culture into the place. Not to mention a bit of intelligence

If you are chasta you could snow kite mt taranaki. its average slope is 45deg. I personally would die.
3hr drive to turoa/whakapapa which is snowkitable.

hmmm.... maybe SW Tas would smash both spots, for wind and surf.... and maybe even unseasonal snow

but i do like the sound of 15-20 days a yr of 6m workouts

Only bad thing about NZ I have heard is it's very hard to find a well paying job. And also the majority of housing is really run down

Plummet,
Do you guys go south to Kina Rd etc very often? Lots of 30+ knot south-easterlies down there, especially this time of year.

And we only have electricity between 8am and 10.00pm, unless its rainy, then power is intermittent. We only have 3 tv channels, and none of the news presenters are foxy MILFs.

Also, I got my dinghy stolen off me by an angry Maori tribe last time I was out in the bay.

NZ vs WA

real waves vs 2 hour drive to real waves (margs scares the **** out of me just like west coast nz when big)
mild summer cold winter vs warm (not real cold tho in winter and nz just had longest warmest summer ever 4 months virtually no rain.. plenty of days in boardies)
crowded slicks vs looking for someone to ride with on a slick
maritime frontal wind can be gusty vs perfect summer sea breeze
super varied conditions very close together vs same same
much more driving/roadtrips/4wding to get to right spot vs good spots on doorstep or very long roadies to amazing places
way more swell hitting nz west coast but generally lower period
year round wind vs more seasonal (winter perth wind can be like a lot of winter nz wind just much more of it)
much more tidal considerations vs not much at all
4 kite quiver vs 2
snowkiting mountainbiking snowboarding - well any ...boarding there is a lot of it going on in nz
nz is way more expensive than it used to be (but no WA$).. but retains a lot of freedom to do what you like without harassment, eg setting up grinch in random places or people are more supportive than aggressive towards things like that...most of the time..

Pretty good to have these 2 as options whatever, they are both awesome. I play grass is greener with the 2 a lot, costs a lot in airfares. Don't do overseas surf trips much any more also, hate wasting my time in crowded waves. New housing in NZ is waaay better than 10 years ago but u gotta pay.

If you hardened to some bad weather kiting NZ beats WA, but as the battered joints start to seize with age its glucosamine tablets or warmth..

Yep when ever its se we head to tai road. Next road south of kina. Your right big swell and big wind there. Most of my 6m days are at tai. That place demands respect hits hardcore!. Maybe 20 or so sessions at tai through the year? .

I imagine you could get a lot more than 20 days at Tai if you can kite every day. The NZ Herald is reporting Search & Rescue seeing a kite being blown offshore at Waitara yesterday, hope the rider got in OK.
Us oldies with arthritic joints do find the colder water inflames them much more.

If yesterday is anything to go by I'd say WA, mast and a half pits and a seabreeze to boot

yes you can. I miss a lot of tai sessions due to work and family rudely getting in the way. but its not the normal wind direction so Tai only is on occasionally.

False alarm re the kiter out to sea. it was someone sending out a fishing kite longline set up.
