Hey not sure if i worded this rite but just wondering if kiting will ever follow surboard shaping where you find a nice board and you can get it re shaped or guess what im saying is finding a nice kite such as rev2 and getting it custom made any ideas
Not sure if you mean kite rebuilding as in take an old kite and have it re built with new fabric but keep the original design, well that's easy, take it to a sail maker. It wont ever fly like new though.

i agree - if someone made a rev 2 that was tweaked a bit a bit - I'd buy it - The octane was such a backward step for ss and now they have given up the whole sle concept because they couldnt get it right
I modify my kites to include stretched pockets to catch more air in the canopy by dropping them in front of big waves when new. I also reduce the overall weight by sanding back the LE padding every time I launch.
You may need to design your own Yorksyboy.. I wouldn't underestimate just how much there is to it though..
Even all the biggest companies really seem to be making the most minor of improvements and really just trading one characteristic for another most of the time imo.
Time for a break through I reckon. You could be the man boy to make it yorksy. keep us posted.
Almost every company that has an intuitive, go with the flow, kitesurfing dude as their kite designer, has an experienced and highly qualified aeronautical engineer in the background actually making things work. At least they will have an experienced sail maker in the crew.
The front man does the testing and tweaking and tuning. The engineer does the math and the science that makes the dream become a reality.
