Hey lads, im coming down to my last couple months here in Canada and moving back home to the gong for good. Im looking at buying either a 7m or 8m RPM. Im 95 kgs and freeride + bit of freestyle. Currently riding a 2014 misfit 142 straps but am looking at the new slingshot vision and getting some boots possibly.
I kno ill get more top end out of a 7m but more low end out of the 8m. I Had a 8m rally and the windrange was 21-32 pretty much.
I was wondering if anyone could comment on if i would get more use out of the bottom end of an 8 compared to using the top end of the 7 in higher winds. cant say ive kited a load around wollongong and im sure the southerly is probly more suited to the 8m? cheers
i should add i also have a 10m and 14m rpm.

I ride in Sydney so similar wind to the gong. I ride boots and pretty much do purely wakestyle. For that I would say the 8m is hands down the better option. I find that an 8/10 combo is money especially when you're heavier (I'm 85kgs). The 8 is big enough that it doesn't have that "small kite" feel and you can still do passes on it without it looping behind you but you can still do big loops with it in 35+ without killing yourself. 8m is just a bit crap if your next kite up is an 11 because then you've got nothing for the low 20s. It will come alive for you at 24/25 I would say and last you up to the high 30's.

Hey bro cheers for the reply, I've been here on and off for 3 years. Some the ski resort season and lived in sk for couple years with the mrs, how about u man. I'll be possibly movin to cronulla, do u mainly ride botany? Rite on 8m sounds good yew
