Hi, is the kitesurfing season over? Im a begginer wanted to practice kite control and water start but each day this week the wind seemed to have died off or is off-shore.

Should I packup my gear untill next season? Any begginers feel the same?

Hopefully we see some decent southeasterlies / southerlies this winter.

Generally these thump in and then gradually die off, so look to get out in the lighter part of the wind.

:) I went out twice since my last post. Once when it was 20+ gusty - not fun but good practice and then I went today - beautiful day wind 10-ish and the kite would not fly. Also good practice trying out different approaches in trying to get it to launch. Managed to self launch it once flew half way and l came down. There was just not enough wind. Will keep trying though.

Hi man,

I am a beginner as well.

Trying to fly my trainer kite, but it's really difficult due to gusty winds. Looks pretty good next week on Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe we can meet this Saturday, provided the wind picks up.

Cheers,
Mike
