I'm heading to Byron on the 22nd of September for a week, just wondering what kites to take and what the wind will be like. I've got an 8m REO, 10m Core Xr3 and a 15m Core Xr2, I'll try to fit them all in and also planning on bringing a TT and my SB. I'm staying across the road from Clare's beach but was just wondering what direction I'll need to be able to kite, anything with an N in it? Also where some good spots to kite?

Thanks for the info in advance.

Bring all 3 kites the northerlies will be on, it should be strong but you get light days as well.
you can't kite on main beach between the carpark and clarks beach cafe or you'll upset the natives ! ! So you will have to walk up or down the beach to rig up and launch.
we often kite from belongil play there and haul around the bay pretty friendly crew just say hi
good beaches all around to kite all surf beaches there's no flat water around here unless you head to the Gold Coast
if it's southerly winds head north or south of Byron , google maps will show the way
great downwinders if you got transport and a driver
if you want to kite with some others let us know
if not watch out for lentils they create the wrong kind of wind

Thanks for the info, I've had a look around found this on the net. What would be the most popular spot out of the 3? 1 starting the furthest to the left.

2 would be most popular when the noreasters are on and 3 is a southerly spot. To the right of spot 1 is fun , plenty of beach it's a bit onshore in northeast but easy to run across the bay and do a couple tacks out to wategoes , it gets a bit messy but that means it's windy so we put up with it
