Just cant believe how F'n little wind there is this time of the year. If Id done a good season of NE'rs over summer maybe I would be happy for the rest but nope I took this up in April. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaark

But I have manage to hurt myself so feel a part of the community, Wednesday scouting some spots that might be good to launch in a SE and walking over some rocks in my Uggies slip on moss and bruised my knee and got my uggies wet on right foot. pretty scary stuff.

On sunday there was almost wind so I carried my stuff down to beach and whilst looking over the water in disgust as to how **** it was I dropped my board down and didn't manage to clear my own foot, quite painful actually and I have a bruise so pretty proud of that. any suggestions as to how I could avoid these injuries.

How do I get them logged into the injuries per thousand hours statistics as I think we are not looking tough enough these days with paragliding and couple of other sports getting far more per thousand hours, windsurfing is almost equal for christ sake!

anyway Im going to be ok, but its pretty cool to walk in with slight exaggerated limp to work and respond to what happened with a rhy laugh " ha kitesurfing injury on the weekend" the girls just swoon. The windsurfer over in the corner hiding his face cause his never dropped his board on his foot. Gotcha I say!

Basically the above sums up what mistakes you made so maybe get down to Rooty Hill RSL and play the pokies instead and have a few pots of VB (for less drama bruz)

Yeeehar Kenny.

Haha aren't you MORE likely to get hurt with **ty wind?!

I was out on a small wind day recently but it had the odd gust. My friend decided now would be the time to teach me to self-launch. Just down wind of a rock jetty. So what happened... I got dragged across the beach, up the rock jetty, down the rock jetty and onto the other beach... good thing I was wearing steamer and life vest that day... got serious bruises in some very unfortunate places lol... but tried to get out there before the shock wore off and the pain set in so I'd be having enough fun to be distracted and make it worth it! Alas, it was not to be... my far more experienced kite surfing buddies (whom I love dearly) decided to call it a day as the wind was too crap even for them!

I have an interesting scar on my wrist to remind me ;-) Think I got off lucky, all things considered!

Wait... Were you down wind or up wind of the rock jetty? If down wind, you have pretty good up wind beach body dragging skills.
