Had 3 out for 4 very nice afternoons at Stockton - with an E, SE and NE in successive trips.

My thoughts - I tend to go to Stockton, as (1) I travel from the Hunter Valley, and Stockton is a little quicker
(2) I do not have to walk as far from my car to get to the beach.

(3) In a Southerly, S/E - the breakwater gives a little bit of flatter water to get beyond the break.
In all directions other than a westerly it seems to work

(4) I enjoy driving over that big bridge.

(5) I find the Stockton circa 1970's feel quite quaint.

My question is - am I missing out on something at Nobbies?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Stockton a bit sharky?

That's what the local fishos say. It is a known breeding area for great whites... Good news is they are mostly juveniles from 2m up - if they bite you, they don't take much meat, but you may bleed to death;-)

The locals over there seem to be old and grumpy too, in particular one named Keith and another named Shannon.
