So i believe old bar is the best place for me this summer to progress at freestyle kitesurfing.
Ive spent a few weeks there over the winter hiding from the council and rangers discovering the toilets get locked bloody early. But ive staked out a decent flying spot and had a few kite sessions there and even a cheeky couple free camp sites.
Question is.... How busy does she get? I was told the "kiters" book out the entire trailer park once a year for some event? What is that?
And how many people actually kite there regularly over the summer (hoping its reliable wind? is it?)
Cheers for help.
If you dont want me there just tell me somewhere thats better for 15 to 25 knot winds in butter flat water
Liquid Force have their big weekend away there useally first weekend of Feb. It's alot of fun. We don't book the entire park though, just a corner and few folks in amongst the cabins. Really fun event with or without wind.
Muddied, the kite spot is getting pretty siltted up but works, aswell as a hop up the road to Harrington. Another great spot. The park at the end of the dirt road is ok to camp.in I'm pretty sure. And one of the council men is Lee Kav. Legend kiter.
There are not a great deal of local kiters anymore. 10ish maybe and alot of them prefer waves these days but there are always kiters stopping through. Hey and time trips to high or even king high tides, with the high tide following 4-6 hours(by memory. It's heaps slow getting into the estuary
