Where in the ballina/Byron area can I meet people to learn and get advice on buying my first kite and stuff. I have been reading a few of the stories but I find it would be more better in person.

Hey champ. I've just started kiting and had 4 lessons. I'm traveling Aus and have found 99% of kiters in any state are really helpful re advise on any kite related topic. A few fellow kiters have even offered to lend Me their kite because my kite was to big for the winds that day. I've just had a lesson through surf FX in Southport QLD. All the guys in there where tops re kite advise, even though I bought my kite elsewhere. Hope this helps mate

Thanks ruggers for the reply, just pinched a nerve in the back so going to put me out for a bit. I was out all weekend looking for a few surfers but surprisingly none. So very keen to get started, good luck with your training. Will be out there ASAP. Found a site in Byron, spoke to him and will be getting lessons when better.

Shame about the back champ. Hope it heals up soon and you're getting into the kiting.
We are heading your way over next week. Just looking for good beginner spots in Byron. I am just getting up on the board. It's addictive once you start.
