I have not kited the Batemans area myself as I have just moved to Canberra, but have heard Broulee is a popular spot (not sure about waves)
Was down at Merimbula on Saturday which works in a northerly, was not a lot of swell around though.
nswkba.com.au has some locations listed. I would guess anything wind with west in it is going to be pretty bumpy.

Broulee will do, just make sure you have your truckers cap tilted at the correct angle so you will blend in with local surfers,
Lots of people there in summer, There are so many beaches down there, and bays..
You might need to walk up the beach a bit to dodge the people and get the wind direction right ...but man talk about options!!!!

Broulee is crap. Gusty, choppy and way overcrowded. The locals are mean sons of bitches who will cut your lines and piss on your kite if you get in their way. You'd be much better driving a little further north to Ulladulla or south to Merimbula.

If you do decide to go there approach the locals with extreme caution, make an offering (beer, money, your eldest daughter) to their leader [}:)](short guy with Cabrinhas) and you will be directed 500m down the beach where you may kite out of the way.

I hear Lake George has plenty of water in it. Why don't you hook up with a few local ACT kiters and get them to teach you there. The closest Kite instructor I know of to Batemans Bay is Pete from String Monkey and he is based in Merimbula.

i was there on saturday, no problems.

been making the occasional day trip there for years, no problems.

30+ knots NE'er with flat water down the southern end of "north broulee" (just west of the rocky island outcrop) is the highlight.

or are you a local trying to scare off visitors yourself ;)
