When the wind is blowing from the south it's usually a good idea to look what's north of there, incase you get stuck downwind.
There are about 7 kilometres of rugged clifffaces, then a harbour which is used by freighters, warships and large cruiseships all of which require a long distance to stop. Once you get across this major international harbour you have a few more kilometres to go til you get to Manly where the wind will probably die behind north head.
You could try Dee Why but bear in mind that the swell is a solid 6-8 foot today. And people catch big sharkies just off longy!
Thanks guys where is longy ? i like big wave and they can be up to 14 foot live for this time of the year then i can go down to the south to robe and represent the east [}:)] aloha Eddie would GO
if you aren't taking the piss (which you so obviously are) pick me up on your way to longy when its 14foot and 35 knots. Would love to film it for you (or for your family at least)
