As a first kite for a beginner i am looking at these 2, my son was going to have a go at kitesurfing a fiew years back and i still have a 3mtr best grunt that i fly occasionally so got some basic kite skills, just moved to wallaroo wich lends itself to kitesurfing a little more than port pirie did where i windsurfed only.keen to start off with a cheaper s/hand kite and update if i get the bug.

Both are decent kites but a 13 is pretty big for Port Pirie (based on my limited knowledge of SA) for your first kite unless you're over 100kg. If you want that big a kite then either will be fine, though dollar-for-dollar I'd go the crossbow.
It's a buyer's market, so shop around.
