My kite is a 2016 Envy 12m. Bar is a liquid force cbr bar. I am having trouble launching it. I just put the strings on the middle/default knot. The kits just wants to dive when its close to the ground at the edge of the window. Bloody anoying! Can anyone help? It flies fine when its straight up and just moving back and forth through center. Please help.

Hi jaekayjosh

This problem is most likely caused by poor launching and flying skills. You also probably have this problem when the wind is lighter. You are back-stalling the kite and the simplest solution is to push out the bar when this happens. Use steering rather than power until the kite is higher up. As you probably notice, the wind close to the ground is lighter and more turbulent compared to the wind higher up.

As Cauncy recommends, it would be a good idea to check your lines lengths, if your front lines are longer than the back lines then this will make your kite back stall even more.

here is a video to help you improve your launching skills:

and if you don't understand how the kite flies and what a back stalling kite is, then I suggest you watch this video:

Hope this helps

Cpr bar has a really long throw to which can make the problem worse in light wind.

If in WA I was gonna get someone to check it
, if on pulleys check for flattening on pulley lines, this is due to where the Kite naturally sits, you'll see normal dimension either side, this is where it'll be in launch land position, this slightly restricts the smooth movement along the pulley line, check rollers for flattening wear and smooth operation
