Hi all,

Im looking to get my first kite and have been looking around for a 2nd hand one.

Any thoughts on the 3 that i have been looking at?

2008 Ozone Sport 9m

2009 Rrd Hyper Ii - 9m

2007 Rrd Hyper Type - 9m

I am 67kg so have been looking for a 9m kite for Perth.

Cheers

I have a 2007 Hyper type and am a newbie

Have tried the Ozone sport as well, imo the ozone is the one to get, all other things being equal. From my experience the RRD does tend to luff a bit, not a problem if you're watching it but I have had a couple of close calls when really inexperienced. The Ozone I had lessons on was really nice, no luffing probs at all

Had the RRD out today at Leighton, and it did try to luff once but as I know its gnarly tricks it wasn't a problem It's not a big issue though, only happens once or twice a session if you're not paying attention and you can still catch it.

Thanks Nebbian. Someone else mentioned the same thing about the Ozone sport so will take a look at it.

Anyone else got any opinions on those three kites?

Try as many kites as you ca. Hit up your local shops for demos. I highly recommend you try the Liquid Force Envy or the Best Tabou too. I will stay clear of anything older than 2008.

Steely I've got an 8m 2009 or 2010 (can't remember which year) XC Light and I absolutely love it.

Apparently the XC Light replaced the Sport in 2009.

Darren reviewed the Sport here:
