Hey guys, I'm a beginner. I've flown a trainer a few times and will be taking a lesson this week. I weigh 220lbs and will be kiting near Kingston ON (pretty light winds). Everyone I've talked to suggests a 14m or 15m kite. Does anyone have an opinion on the 2 kites listed above? I can get the Envy for about $200 cheaper than the RPM (both new).

Cheers-

How light are we talking here? 12-16knts?

My friend just started on a 12m Kite and he is 290lbs, and that is fine for 18kts+ for him.

I have a 2012 15m Envy. It's predictable, forgiving and easy to use, but once the wind gets up around 16/17kn it's too big for me (96kg) - my 12m is used more. Light wind, the 15 will fly when the 12 won't but is slow to turn when light (I figure they all are).

Sorry can't give comparison as the only other kites I've flown were the school's during lessons (they were crap).
