Of all the methods, downlooping is the most risky (especially if you haven't done them before). You probably know that, just making sure. The good thing about downlooping is that it takes your brain out of the automatic transition timing you are used to , and develops another timing for the new trick with the new kite.
I'd definitely start 11 or HIGHER and fishpole that bar to get the kite turned asap and keep it as high in the sky as possible. Once it's turned, follow the kite through the transition. Lots of demos around youtube etc. Make note that you're generally starting to point the board downwind before starting the downloop.
