I just got and old cheap 6m kite and used that instead of a trainer practicing on the beach and body dragging. Much better investment as you can later use it for 30+ knots ! Trainer kites are really expensive for their temporary purpose, plus not all of them have a bar.
+1...

doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose though??? buying a **** small kite to protect the good one.
i mean who wants to be using a **** old 6m when they get better, and its howling?
i reckon you'd want the best kite in any size. just take your time and be prepared to split your good one in half???
best tip anyone will give ya: if you drop the kite in the surf, if its safe downwind, flag the kite out. its just too easy to tear/stretch a kite???
