Hi, can someone recommend a high quality sunscreen that really stands up to the abuse of being out for upto 4 hours. One that has good water resistance (they all state this but most fail) & doesn't have to be reapplied every hour. Cheers

Cheers Gateman, sounds like a great product. I've checked out the site & there's a stockist near me. Will give it a go.

Can't recommend this stuff highly enough!! I've used so many different products, over the years but nothing beats this stuff for ease of application, and for lasting sun protection, well over 4 hrs in my experience.
Its also clear, does not sting and does not get all over my bar and lines.

Cheers Steve, I had no idea you guys stock this product. I managed to get some in a chemist in Maroubra. There's only a few places around Sydney that sell it. More on Nothern Beaches. You'll have to contact island-tribe & get them to put your details on their stockist web page.

Ditto. I've used island tribes and it's been great. Not as runny as the normal stuff and seems to last longer. No stinging eyes or burnt skin.

Yep,

+1 for the Island Tribe 100ml Gel. The stuff is the bomb! No sting in the eyes, and lasts ages. We've got a small army of regular buyers of the IT stuff. They all rave.

Been using island tribe for over 20 YEARS
The best
Make sure you get the gel
The cream is good but not for face
It will sting your eyes on contact with sea water
Repeat
Gel for face and head
Cream for arms and legs

Ditto from me.
It still recommends 4hrs but I'm the worst ever at reapplying and I haven't been sun effected at all from one morning slather since using Island Tribe. In and out of water.
And it's no dearer than any of the others worth considering.

well op seeing as your questions been answerd I thought I might add what to do when your stuck on am island or country that doesnt sell sunscreen. (believe me some countrys just dont)

apart from a few dodgey beard attempts I resorted to helmet sunglasses wetsuit gloves and riding with boots and a motorbike mask (neoprene) completely protected . the motorbike mask does kinda give you a bit of what I imagine being waterboarded feels like. im looking into developing a santaclause like beard as an alternative.

I just bought some but the only gel was in a spray bottle? Is that the right stuff or do they do a gel in a tube??

Never tried Island Tribe - sounds like good stuff.

I want to put in a recommendation for Coco Island Clear Zinc. Its only about $10- $12 a tube, and works really well.

I am a borderline ranga, and this is the only stuff I have used that has actually stopped me from getting burned (and I have tried a whole range of different brands). Has pretty good water resistance - I would say about 3 hours.
