Have been told by the hubby to go with a north rebel, 8 or 9mtr. Anyone have any other ideas on the best brand / model for a beginner. I am still at the bodydragging stage and already checking seabreeze on a regular basis! I am in mid west WA so winds pretty strong over summer and at about 65kg not sure if 8/9 mtr is the best size either??

Im asuming that your husband rides and has his own gear, what does he ride and what sizes. Do you have a board and what size and will you be ridding in surf or mainly flat water. At 65kgs you are not that far off the weight that most manufactures set there wind range chart so check out the local conditions and line them up with the kite size you are looking at and if its mainly in the topend go down to the next kite size.
If you blend your kite in with your husbands quiver you may find that in lighter conditions you may be able to use one of his kites if he is bigger than you. Eg if he has a 12m,9m get a 7m

Mid West have the strongest winds in WA.
For 65kg I wouldn't go anything larger than 7m in your area.
Beginners should only be worry about some aspects of the kite;
1- Easy water relaunch
2- Forgiving (slow) kites
3- Good depower
I don't know much about the new Rebel but the old one (2005 I think) was like a dead cow in water relaunch.
I would suggest a good delta kite, they have a good wind range, some have a good depower system and water relaunch is easy as

My husband has north rebels, one a 10 and one 7mtr. He will probably end up using mainly his 7 here this summer so I will probably end up getting a 5 or 6. I will be using his twin tip on mainly flat water. He is on a board riding the waves.
