Hi all,

First lesson yesterday, drank a bit more salt water than I had anticipated but it was a great experience. It was 25 knots so my instructor suggested I get a few more lessons around the 12-18 knot range to round out my experiences of wind strength. To my question: I've been asking around and I'm interested in getting either a C4 or Edge 11m. While the people I've asked have been helpful I'm not sure of the main differences. I understand that the Edge does bigger jumps but that's about all I understand/remember from what I was told.

I'll be kiting in Sydney, I'm about 5'11 and 82 kg's. While I'm looking forward to doing some jumps that's not a primary interest of mine. I mostly want to feel a powerful kite that is responsive when I'm riding around on the water. Good de-power would be a plus as I'm a beginner.

I suppose most people want what I just wrote so if someone could tell me about the main differences between the two kite that would be helpful.

why not go for something different such as the cabrinha switchblade or the slingshot rally?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The catalyst gets good reviews I see, and the guy from Kitepower recommended the Switchblade too.

The Catalyst is the kite in the Ozone range with the most depower "at the bar", and for that reason tends to be recommended more than the C4 or Edge as the beginner kite.
A competent beginner who has followed our guidance and had lessons with us would be able to safely continue to learn using any of the Ozone kites, and for sure there are some bargains to be had in last years gear, or ex demo stuff.
