I dared myself to do this and it was not that hard. But you have to ease into it to build confidence.

1. Put your board on an angle of direction you want to take off and as close as possible to the edge of the water. Over time you can get deeper back up the sand, with confidence. Hopefully the wind is nice and strong and cross on-shore.

2. Launch kite etc

3. Put yourself on the board and sit down

4. Now lean back and lift your toes

5. Power dive the kite as per normal (but don't over do it!)

5. Keep leaning back extra and lift your toes to create instant edge

6. Enjoy!!!

Tips: Choose soft dry sand sections as they are less "grippy" on your fins and board. Oh and try and do this to an old board. You will scratch the **** out of it eventually.

There is a cool video of a couple of kooks actually kiting on sand across a river bank and over to the ocean side. Cool ****

And if its Xonshore (as per whats usual & recommended) then you need to add to a few steps bw 5. & 6. ie The steps needed to execute a hard landing.
Basically the answer here is - if you need to ask you shouldnt be thinking about. Dreaming about it? - maybe - but not thinking of trying. You are a long time off the water with broken ankles or knees.
If you are chasing *cool* vid of this stunt try pm'ing Griffin Kites - its a signature move of Chris - the owner. And btw he doesnt do it from arse down position. That = mega gay as well as dangerous.

I can't be bothered arguing.

They're right. Don't listen to me ever. I am full of ****, and don't sue me if you get hurt.

Here is close to what I've described. BUT. But you must be far more confident than him to attempt it. It's obvious he is a beginner and a dickhead at best. So very risky. He's hooked in too which creates all sorts of possible bad scenarious. And it's a small crowded area. Not recommended.

And here is a more pro way, unhooked, kite mega looped with bindings on the board. This of course requires pro experience ...

Watch from around 3:00. He talks a lot but it's in Russian anyway ...

Cotton wool from me !
Please Note - the 2nd one that was 'exactly what you wanted' was an offshore beach launch. Good to GO at pretty much any level of experience/skill. AND heaps of fun - no fun police from me on that one - go for it.

Good to hear you are loving it - we all do. Go hard, push the boundaries - for sure - but a few basics may save a whole lot of time OFF the water.
just saying.
