Hi guys,

just want to get some feedback on the Cabrinha FX 2017 (9m) for a beginner eg kite's upwind ability, relaunch, general progression on this kite as a newbie.

I have a 12m switchblade already so not sure if I should really be sticking with SB for the 9m also?

I have had a few lessons and just getting going upwind, I am 75kgs, have a 137 Tronic and keen to progress eventually in to free ride/freestyle but conscious of getting gear that may hamper my progress early on.

Yeah I would tend to agree. It will be great in the future when you want to progress as well.

My wife had lessons with a school here who use Fx's, and she was fine.

I went on to Fx's with less than a season under my belt. Still use them, love them, easy to re-launch.

I' not saying they are the best, but for mine, they seem to be as good a choice as anything else I've seen regardless of the stage you are at.

Hey fentz, I think the FX would be fine. As others have said you will need to work the kite a bit more as it doesn't have the same sheet in and go grunt of the switchy.

Ultimately it forces you to be a better kiter imo.
