Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for maintenance of the Core ESP Bar.
My centre line swivel (the thing that untwists lines by pulling the bar in) is fairly jammed - is there a part I need to replace, or would oil/equivalent be suitable?

Hi aussiekiter,

Time to do a bit of preventative maintenance.

Grab a spanner and remove the nut on the bottom of the chickenloop. remove the washer and slide the parts apart. You'll have to untie the knot that holds on the safety ring below the chickenloop. If it is all jammed up, I suggest a nice hot bath for it overnight to remove the salt and muck.

Separate the parts and give each part a good scrub with a stiff bristle brush to remove any stuck on crud. once you have all the bits clean, you can re-assemble the parts. I would use a silicone spray or dry lubricant. Avoid oil based lubricants.

Once it's back together, check that the release mechanism works properly, and the swivel works BEFORE putting the line back through the chickenloop and re-tying the knot.

All good!

Thanks so much for your help!
Just wondering - how easily should the chicken loop swivel at the end of it?
I've got it so I can turn it with my hand, but I certainly wouldn't describe it as silky smooth ...
