Anyone done it?

You would have to have amazing upwind and kite control to keep direction.

Its extremely illegal but I actually got 2 of your famous glaciers in under my belt there kiwi man ;-) have a VERY nice photo where I popped up onto the existing glacier on the tail and grabed the nose of board then popped back into the melt :-) she had a mini calve not long before that so was few icebergs hanging about.

I havent even risked getting this shot printed on a stuby cooler or canvas print incase I get into ****. But yeah

Best advice would be it doesnt matter how thick your wetty is it just matters how tight it fits around your arteries and hands. Dont bother calling doc as welllllll outa theyre many years ago

Lasso tool is your friend. Select yourself, doctor the levels, resize it a tad and paste it back into your pic...then you can claim "hey it's just a photoshop" :D

Lofty, You would have better luck kiting the second lake, on the other side of the road there, but there is no way I'd be swimming in that water.

Nice. Mate I wouldn't even worry about it being illegal. I've been mountain biking my local mountain which is officially a national park for 20 years and that's illegal too....

So load up your photo. What's the worst that can happen?

Next time you come to nz and your going through customs lights will start to flash and a loud god like voice hells "WARNING, WARNING, GLACIER KITESURFER, GLACIER KITESURFER. EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!"

Its not like your a terrorist, selling child porn or god forbid bringing a pear into the country accidentally in your carry on luggage.

Great idea! Are you local?

Yeah I've sussed that other side of the lake and it's dead on Northerly.

I was thinking the one in the pic above would have been better due to it facing more EAST, NE.

Gusts would be the issue and it would have to be over 20knots on the shore line for it to be viable.
