Ok maybe cause I'm new, since mid Dec, or just UN coordinated but I can't seem to set this while out.
Im 120kgs dry, and I got a naish park to play with when the wind is to low for poledancing
But short of poking my fingers in the the cleat, I can't seem to set the depower on the new naish bar.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for the poley stuff

By set, do you mean pull some trim?
You need to unload the lines a bit -- either sheet out and pull, time a hip-thrust at the kite and pull, or ride downwind at the kite... and pull.
If you mean letting the trim out, the pull back and out to slip the cleat.

I have a LF CPR bar and it's the same. Kamikuza is right - unloading the lines will work. I sometimes fly the kite right up to 12 too as the pull is a bit less there. Once I got used to it, I didn't mind the system. Need to be mindful of wear and tear on the depower rope though! The bar throw is so big on the LF bars that most of the depower comes from there anyway...doesn't help you much with the Naish bar though.

Hi thanks,
I can pull some trim on, that's not the problem, yes I park the kite at 12 to do this.
The big issue is getting the cleat to catch the line,
The trim line seems to skim over the cleat and wont get caught until some random spot it chooses.
If there is a trick to this I would be most grateful to know, but for now I set and forget.

Ok now I understand and yes you're right it's a hassle, and if the rope slips when you're launching this can actually be a risk unless it's seated well in the cleat.
On my LF bar the only way I know is to kind of pull it up (ie towards the kite) and back (ie towards the water) from above the cleat which seems to allow the ridges on the cleat to catch better.
Hopefully it's similar on your Naish bar.

below the bar de-power sux - I never knew how bad until I converted to above the bar. Surprising how easy it is to trim while powered up on the move with above the bar cleat.

With my Naish universal bar I found it easier to adjust it a couple of inches at a time so that I could use my thumb to help to push the rope into the correct angle so it didn't slip. Was no more than 3 adjustments between fully off and fully on so not really a problem.
I had a 2012 bar. I have read that the later stuff was 'less' likely to slip out. YMMV
The Naish ATB has its own idiosyncrasies (no stopper ball - best for people with a long reach) so I'd only change if you found a properly cheap one.

It should just lock if you've pulled it straight back and let it load up again... Cleat might be "stretched", or the rope is worn or replaced with something too thin?

All brand new been used maybe a dozen times. So I doubt it's worn out.
I was talking with Gazza at the beach and you need to exaggerate the movement almost crossing over the hand to the other side of the body.
I'll try this next time.

I actually don't mind the below-the-bar depower cleats of the Naish. You just can't pull the depower line like you would with a normal above the bar setup. The best way I found, whilst riding, is to pull the line around your waist and carefully adjust the depower. Don't pull it too hard outwards, as the power of the kite will stall and the line will yank itself back into the cleat too fast.

I had the same problem on my brand new bar .I think its because the rope is not worn in yet ,,It gets easier in time as the rope gets softer,,

On another slightly different tack with the same Naish below bar depower system what is the maximum length of rope you think should be pulled in past the cleat. I only ever pull through at max about 10 centimeters. Is this too much or is the maximum more than this ? Basically I guess what I am trying to say what is the range for max depower before the kite is way too depowered and probably flying very poorly.

Sounds like may need depower trim rope replacement when mine became hard to adjust that was the case normally would last me about 6 to 9 months
