I have 10m and a 12m Reos and thinking of getting an 8m,I think the 8m is usually sold with a shorter bar than the one i have, I am wondering if the 8m will still handle ok if i use the longer bar/line that i am using for the 10 and 12.
Thanks, any info appreciated.

Hi wheels, 8-10-12 Reo,s all fly on the same size bar.....measure your bar it should be a 50 supplied to go with 10-12m.

if you want to shorten your ozone bars its a piece of cake, drill out the rivets on bar ends, cut bar to suit re rivet the bar with alu or stainless rivets takes 15 mins max, a new bar on its own minus the lines etc is cheap as

Line lengths are a personal preference, some go to 20 mtrs on small and 28 +on lightwind kites, usually most kites are around the mid 20s

I have used a longer bar on my 7m and it works fine. I quite liked it.

But, I much prefer having a bar for each kite.

The lines wear out faster than the kite so it's a good idea to spread the wear over a number of bars.

Having another bar is great if you break something or leave a bar at home.

It's going to be much easier to sell a kite with a bar than just a stray kite by itself.

It should be much cheaper to get the bar with the kite than to try and buy a separate bar if you need another one later.

It usually makes sense to conform to the manufacturer's instructions. They might know a bit more about it than you do.

1 x bar + 3 x kites for me

The less stuff to lug around the better. Lines can be replaced easily once worn. Resale works because you pay less in the first instance.

The reos are sold kite only anyway.

Line lengths, I have 20m + 5m extensions but I prefer 25m personally. Shorter lines = less power but smaller wind window so kite reaches edge of window quicker, giving the feel of a faster kite. You will find the 8m reo on 20m lines very quick indeed.
