I'm thinking about buying a kite package privately, was wondering if a liquid force bar and lines go with with a ozone 4 kite

I disagree, to have a perfect match, to be safe and to have best results in flying you need to make sure the safety system matches and that the configuration of the center lines are the same, meaning that where the center lines start to split i.e. the ''V'' is the same distance from the bar on both bars.

In the case of the liquid force bar vs Ozone bar you have two completely different safety systems (2 fronts lines for LF and single front line for Ozone). Additionally you have the split in the center line on the LF bar much further away from the bar in comparison the Ozone bar. In conclusion it's a pretty bad match and won't fly the same.

To back up what I'm saying: I've tried Ozone bars on a couple of different other kite brands and the result was pretty bad.

not saying your wrong, but generally as long as youve an equal line length it should be ok, if your flying ozones then change to a different kite then for sure its gonna feel different, ive swapped around the bar with bandits and naish due to the owners having issues with their bars with no difference, as you know ozone make different styles of kites with different bridles, but they all fly on the same bar , maybe its the flying charicteristics of the different kite not the bar

Thank you to all for your info, I am deciding on buying a kite from a shop to get started. That way I am safe with selection. Didn't seem to be an honest seller.

The basic statement that all 4 lines should be equal length is a given on 4 line kites.
The other given is that they need checking as kites can come with different lines for front higher load bearing than the rear and often can stretch to different lengths during early use (as far as I know all kite lines are pre-stretched as part of the manufacturing process).

The main point to look at is the amount of de-power throw.
Some kite models have a setup where the centre of gravity is close to the front lines and a short amount of movement gives all the rotation needed to change the angle of attack. Other kites (with a wider spread in the bridle set-up) may have the rotation point further back and be considerably less sensitive to bar movement and have way more adjustment in the depower. SO before U make the mix try and check what the original would be like etc etc.. - get a better outcome

You really need to know your kites and not just assume - it will only be in the extremes of the kite range that this can be a problem and high wind with a kite luffing on you is no fun (good old days).

Cheers
AP

Thanks Ap great advice, I have decided to buy straight from a supplier. Going to the Gold Coast this Saturday to look around.
This one on here didn't sound like an honest seller, too dodgy for me
