Then right near the end was self rescue. The thing that surprised me about that was you can actually go across and at times slightly up wind whilst sailing the downed kite back in depending on how you hold onto it.
Any instructor who is knowledgable should get the student to self rescue as soon as the the first off shore bodydrag up wind is underway.
No point dragging around back and forth for an hour if it all goes pear shaped.. What will the instructor do if the student cant get back to shore?? Go swimming after him?
