Hi Everyone

I've been thinking about giving kite surfing a go for a while now and have spend the last few days trawling through the forums and getting more enthusiastic. I used to spend quite a lot of my time kite buggying but this has tailed off over the last year or two. As well as that I sail and fly gliders, so it would be fair to say I like being carried around by the elements!

I had a few questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with:

-Who is good for lessons in Adelaide? I've seen a few names but would love some recommendations. I'm hoping I can skip ahead a little bit owing to having some experience with kites, albeit land based ones! Does that sound reasonable?

-Is there anybody in Adelaide who would be happy to have a newbie come down and poke around and ask annoying questions? Just want to come and watch for a while and meet some people who already do it.

-I have a buggy harness and 2 kites and would be keen to sell them to offset costs, or swap them for kite surfing gear with anyone who is keen. Is this forum a good place to advertise this, or will I just piss people off? (or get anti buggying abuse hurled at me??? )

Thanks!

Tom

ps How the hell do you spell that word? Buggyer? Buggyier? Buggier? No idea

GDAY Tom,

Welcome to the forum.......

You may want to try posting your questions in both the SA section and the general section as you will get more peoples attention and thus responses.

and stay away from those buggies ....they are bloody hard to stop

Elements and Red Baron are the two well known and respected Kitesurfing Schools in SA. I can personally advise that both are good as I went with Red baron and My brother went with Elements.

-Is there anybody in Adelaide who would be happy to have a newbie come down and poke around and ask annoying questions? Just want to come and watch for a while and meet some people who already do it.

If you are more northern then there is usually people out at Port Parham on a regular basis. A Variety of skill levels ranging from professional speed riders to Newbies like myself. Everyone at Pazza is friendly and willing to answer questions

If you are closer to the city then Largs Bay is the most common learners spot due to the shape of the beach and often the lack of people swimming there. Once again there is quite often a lot of people who will be willing to answer questions but I can't guarantee this as much as I can the Pazza guys.

The buy sell section here is good for this and it is usually frowned upon if you try to "pimp" your sales in the forum. A simple swap request may not be as bad but this is dependant on the kites you have and their age etc.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM :)
