I feel like something sketchy is always gonna happen whenever I over-rotate on jumps, esp. back rolls when you end up facing the wrong way so that pulling left makes it go right and pulling right makes it go left and you can't think that fast so you just pull in the direction you think best and...

My body is in a totally weird position in the air and the kite is pulling my god knows where, all I am doing is just praying I don't land awkwardly. Sometimes what happens is I will land on my face and then the kite will get sent to the opposite side of the window, launching me right after crashing. This isn't like surfing where I can just ditch my board, bailing is serious sh!t... any tips here?

I think that you learn to not turn the kite unless it's diving at the water or yank on the bar to help with the rotation, unless your trying to kite loop. If you must turn the kite while crashing be gentle until you know it's right.
Just pull the bar in a little to keep the kite stable and wait to regain your orientation before turning the kite

When you lose track better to nudge the kite along with a few small tugs with your front hand.
If totally disorientated, remember, when on a port tack your front hand is your left hand and vice versa on the starboard tack

Always rig your gear right. Red right rigging say when you are putting ure lines out that way the reds always on ure left when kited in the air. No matter what debarcal of a twist u have going on red will be to steer the kite left.

Centrally locate your hands on your bar

A big part of keeping safe is ALWAYS knowing where your kite is. Practice kite control more. Practice kite control while looking in different directions. Practice kite control while spinning your body while body dragging. Practice kite control while underwater. Practice kite control backwards. Practice kite control upside-down. Break down the trick to get the kite sorted first (like not moving it as much by placing hands in the middle of the bar, or removing the hand that's pulling too much)

Learning new stuff is awesome, but as soon as you realise that you're kite isn't under your control you're asking for trouble.

Get a trainer kite and face upwind. Bend your head and neck backwards and fly it. Will get you used to flying the kite and keeping it under control when disoriented.

Lofty just commit to turning the kite one way. You will loop the kite which will give you more time to figure out what way you want to eat $hit.
