Hi all, just wondering if I could get some advice on kite size for first purchase.

I weigh ~90kg and am about 6ft4, I was looking at the North Rebel 2012 and tossing up between the 12m or the 13m.

Does anyone have some advice on what would be better suited to Melb wind conditions bearing in mind that I am hoping that I can get something I won't want to upgrade / revise in the next 12 months !

Thanks

Try this. It's pretty much what I've used and it's accurate ...

Mind you 12 and 13 are so close that either one will do the job just fine. With the 13 you might get 1-2 knots better bottom end and with a 12 1-2 knots of top end.

I'm 90kgs too and have a 2 quite quiver, 13 and 9 (ozone edges). 13 can take me to around 22-23, but at around 20 I will generally change to a 9 anyway.

I'd say go for 13, and complement it with a 9 or 10 later. That will cover you for most conditions we get here in Melbourne. Later on you can get a 7m for those days when it's blowing 25+.
